Box Score CLARION, Pa. – West Chester out shot Clarion 10-0 in the second period to allow the offense to score two goals for the win inside Memorial Stadium Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Rams (13-3, 12-3 PSAC) locked down their sixth straight shutout and 11th of the season out of 16 games total. Clarion (5-11-1, 4-9-1) was unable to get a shot off in the second half, which allowed WCU to take advantage to secure the win.
Sophomore
Taylor Jamison (Honeybrook, Pa./Twin Valley) broke the 0-0 tie with a header on a crossing pass by teammate
Haley Mangiaruga (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) in the 62nd minute of the match. It was Jamison's first goal of the season and gave the Golden Rams a 1-0 lead. Then, at the 78th minute, freshman
Linzi Wolf (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) added some insurance from 7 yards out for her first career goal and cap off the WCU victory.
Junior goalkeeper
Alex Srolis (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) played all 90 minutes between the posts, preventing the Golden Eagles from scoring with the help from her outstanding veteran defensive unit on the Rams' back line - limiting Clarion to only six shots the entire game.
West Chester will wrap up the regular season with Senior Day on Oct. 31 as they take on Seton Hill at 1:30 p.m.
