Box Score MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Freshmen hurlers Amanda Houck and Brooke Harner each tossed complete-game shutouts, and Erin Whitman provided the only run of game two with a home run in the fourth as visiting West Chester swept a PSAC softball doubleheader from host Millersville Monday.

West Chester (14-6, 4-0 PSAC East) remained unbeaten in league play with the two wins. Millersville (8-11, 0-4) is still in search of its first conference triumph.

Houck (6-1) scattered five hits over seven innings in the opener, walking two and striking out three for her second shutout of the season. Harner (5-5) yielded just three hits, struck out five and did not walk a batter in her shutout win.

Laura Altenburger hit a two-run single in the first, after Micaela McSpadden had singled in a run to put West Chester on top early, 3-0. Then, Sarah Derstine hit a three-run home run in the fourth for the rest of the scoring.

Erin Whitman hit a solo home run in the fourth for the only tally in game two. But, that was all Harner needed to get the Golden Rams out of town with the sweep.

West Chester has won four in a row, including three by shutout. The Golden Rams have only allowed one run over that same span.

West Chester hosts Chestnut Hill Tuesday in a non-league doubleheader that was originally scheduled to be played on the road. However, the Griffins' home field was not playable, so the game was moved to West Chester.
