Box Score 2 WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Katie Erb and Ashley Flesch each threw 1-hitters to lead No. 21 West Chester to a non-league sweep over visiting Chestnut Hill College Tuesday afternoon by scores of 4-0 and 3-0.
West Chester (16-6) runs its winning streak to six straight while Chestnut Hill falls to 2-8 overall on the year. The Golden Rams have not been scored upon in its last 30 innings, and the Rams have allowed just one run over its previous 38 frames.
Flesch carried a no-hitter in game two into the seventh inning where a bunt single with two outs proved to be the only hit in the game for the Griffins. Flesch (1-0) picked up her first college win while striking out a season-high 10 batters and walking just two. The Golden Rams scored single runs in the first, third and fifth innings.
In the opener, Erb walked one and struck out six to improve to 4-0 on the year. Sarah Walasavage hit her team-leading third home run of the season as well. Wally finished 4-for-7 with four runs scored and a pair of RBI in the doubleheader.
West Chester hosts Philadelphia University Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in another non-league doubleheader.
