No. 7 West Chester Picks Up Two More Wins Saturday

CLERMONT, Fla. -  Sarah Walasavage's walk-off hit in the bottom of the seventh lifted seventh-ranked West Chester to a 5-4 win over Ferris State Saturday at the Dot Richardson Spring Classic. The Golden Rams topped Urbana, 11-4, earlier in the day.
 
West Chester (4-0) remained unbeaten thanks to the heroics of Walasavage in the second game of the day.
 
Amanda Houck (Gap, Pa./Pequea Valley) got the win in relief of starter Ashley Flesch (Burke, Va./Lake Braddock) to improve to 2-0 on the year.
 
In the opener against Urbana, Ali Vavala (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) went 2-for-2 with four RBI while Erin Whitman (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) went 2-for-2 with a pair of RBI. Janessa Rios (Buena, N.J./Buena Regional) was 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored while Char Conaway (Radnor, Pa./Radnor) was 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored and RBI.
 
Junior right-hander Katie Erb (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) (1-0) went the distance inside the circle to collect the win. She allowed four runs on seven hits while walking two and striking out three.
 
West Chester takes on Southern Indiana and Stonehill College Sunday.
