CLERMONT, Fla. – Erin Whitman went 2-for-2 with a triple and three RBI while both Sarah Walasavage and Ali Vavala were each 3-for-4 to lead West Chester to an 11-3 victory over Stonehill Sunday afternoon. Southern Indiana topped the Golden Rams, 5-0, in the morning.

Seventh-ranked West Chester (5-1) could not muster any offense against Southern Indiana's Brooke Harmening (6-0), who scattered three hits over seven complete innings. USI, who was among others receiving votes in last week's poll, improved to 8-1 overall.

Brooke Harner (1-1) suffered the loss inside the circle. She surrendered five runs on eight hits in 4.1 innings. Amanda Houck came on in relief and tossed 2.2 scoreless innings, yielding just two hits.

However, West Chester bounced back in a big way against Stonehill, rapping out 18 hits and plating 11 runs to get back into the win column. Houck started the game and gave up just two hits in three scoreless innings, but did not go long enough to qualify for the win. Katie Erb (2-0) came on in relief and threw the final four frames to get the win.

Walasavage added a pair of runs scored and a pair of RBI to her 3-for-4 day at the dish.

West Chester continues its southern trip during spring break with a tilt against Urbana (Ohio) at 1 p.m., followed by a game with Limestone at 3 p.m.
