Box Score 2 EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Sarah Walasavage homered in the opener, and
Cat Hammer did the same in the nightcap as visiting West Chester swept a PSAC East softball doubleheader from host East Stroudsburg at Zimbar Field Friday afternoon.

West Chester (33-11, 17-5 PSAC East) took game one, 9-1 in five innings, before turning around and capturing the second game, 4-2, from East Stroudsburg (17-12, 10-8).

The Golden Rams scored six runs in the third inning, and then added one in the fourth and two more in the fifth to take a 9-1 lead. Left-handed starter
Amanda Houck (15-4) sent the Warriors down in the fifth to end the first game early. Houck tossed a five-hitter, allowing one run and striking out two to register her fifth straight victory.

Walasavage finished the opener 2-for-4 with the home run and two runs scored.
Laura Altenburger and
Ali Vavala each went 2-for-3.

Erb remained unbeaten on the year, picking up her seventh win of the season inside the circle in game two. Freshman righty
Brooke Harner registered her fourth save of the year in relief of Erb. The junior righty started game two and lasted 4.1 innings, scattering six hits while allowing two runs and striking out three. Harner tossed 2.2 hitless and scoreless frames while striking out three.

Erin Whitman and Janessa Rios each went 2-for-3 in the second game. Hammer hit a two-run home run during a four-run fourth.

West Chester travels to Bloomsburg University for a PSAC East doubleheader Saturday afternoon with first-place implications on the line.
