Cat Hammer (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) homered for the second time in as many days, but it was not enough to overcome a three-run deficit as West Chester University dropped a 3-2 decision to Seton Hill University in the NCAA DII Atlantic Region 2 Tournament at Culpepper Field on the campus of West Virginia Wesleyan College Saturday afternoon.
West Chester (40-16) finishes the 2015 seasonn with its second straight 40-win campaign. The Golden Rams are now 10-11 all-time in five trips to the NCAA Tournament.
Hammer smashed her sixth home run of the season in the top of the sixth inning to draw the Rams within a run. However, West Chester could not get the equalizer. Seton Hill (32-14-1) pushed across three runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 3-0 lead on starting pitcher
