Box Score MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - West Chester University scored four unanswered goals, three in the second half, to come from behind and defeat host Millersville, 4-1, Tuesday evening at Pucillo Field.
West Chester (7-2, 7-2 PSAC) scored twice in a 75-second span of the second half to open up a one-goal game and leave little doubt as to the outcome. Millersville (3-6, 3-6) scored the first goal of the game, but could not keep the Golden Rams at bay
The Marauders' Nikki Parker opened the scoring in the 38th minute. However, West Chester's
Kara Parvel (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) answered with the equalizer almost one minute later, converting a through ball from teammate
Scarlett Walsh (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan).
Marissa Valenti (Manassas, Va./Osbourn Park) then headed in the go-ahead goal off a corner kick from
Sara Bennis (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) in the 63rd minute, giving West Chester a 2-1 lead that it would not let go.
That set the stage for the Golden Rams to put the game away as
Eric Hansen (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) and Parvel scored 75 second apart in the 86th and 87th minutes to salt away the game. Parvel, who notched two goals on the night, now has a team-leading five tallies this fall, following her penalty kick late in the game.
Alex Srolis (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) made five saves in goal to pick up the win.
West Chester hosts Edinboro on Saturday at 12 p.m.
