West Chester Women Fall To Penn, 185-101

Meet Results

PHILADELPHIA  – Emelie Johansson (Taby, Sweden) was a double winner while Tess Hayward (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) helped one relay to a win and posted a pair of runner up performances individually in a non-league meet at Sheer Pool Friday night.

West Chester (4-5) won four events as Morgan Haney (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) picked up a first-place ribbon in the 100-yard butterfly and led off the 200 free relay. However, Penn was too deep for the Golden Rams swimming & diving squad and ran off to a 185-101 victory.

Johansson won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1 minute, 9.31 seconds and captured the 400 Individual Medley in 4:39.55. She was runner-up in the 200 breaststroke. Hayward placed second in both the 500 free (5:08.97) and the 200 free (1:55.84). Hayward and Haney were both members of the 200 free relay that posted a winning time of 1:40.26. Emily Stang (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) and Sydney Wareham (Mount Joy, Pa./Donegal) made up the other half of the foursome.

Elizabeth Miller (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) was runner-up in the 100 backstroke (1:01.98) and placed third in the 100 fly (1:07.93). Felicia Grego (McAdoo, Pa./Hazleton) finished  just ahead of Miller in the 100 fly (1:05.29). She also third in 400 IM (4:56.94).

West Chester returns home to Graham Natatorium Saturday afternoon to make up its snowed out meet from last weekend against New York University. It is Senior Day at Graham Natatorium, and the Rams will honor their two graduating seniors, Stang and Dani Barron (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge).
