Emelie Johansson (Taby, Sweden) was a double winner while the 400-yard free relay was a winner, but host West Chester could not hold off visiting New York University, who won the non-league swim meet, 204-82, at Graham Natatorium Saturday.

West Chester (4-6) won only three events. Johansson took first in the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2 minutes, 25.58 seconds and again in the 200 Individual Medley, touching the wall in 2:13.63. Meanwhile the foursome of
Emily Stang (Allentown, Pa./Parkland),
Morgan Haney (Lititz, Pa./Warwick),
Sydney Wareham (Mount Joy, Pa./Donegal) and
Tess Hayward (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) won the 400 free relay in a time of 3:45.51.

Elizabeth Miller (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) was runner-up in the 200 backstroke, touching out in 2:13.98. Hayward placed third in the 500 freestyle.

West Chester now begins training for defense of its PSAC crown at the 2016 PSAC Swimming Championships later this month.
