NEW HAVEN, Conn. – West Chester's women's swimming team recorded seven first-place finishes en route to a tro-meet win over PSAC rival Shippensburg and host Southern Connecticut State University Saturday afternoon.
West Chester topped SCSU, 304-59 and Shippensburg, 229-128.
Georgia Wright won both the 1650-yard freestyle and the 200 backstroke. She also swam the anchor leg of the 400 free relay that finished first as well. Junior Tess Hayward won the 200 free and was runner-up in the 50 free. She swam the lead leg of that 400 free relay that won first place as well.
Mikaela Lantz won the 50 free, finishing ahead of Hayward with a time of 24.70 seconds. Meghan Keithly placed first in the 100 butterfly in 1:00.57. The Golden Rams also took third and fourth in that race to pick up more points.
West Chester claimed the top three spots in the 200 free with Hayward winning in a time of 1:57.65 and Sydney Wareham placing second in 2:00.35. Morgan Haney was third in 2:01.28.
Off the 3-meter diving board, Nadia Mulder took first place wiht a score of 274.12 while Lindsay Pope was second with a 217.35.
