Women's Swimming Falls To UPenn, 162-132

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The West Chester University's women's swimming team fell to the University of Pennsylvania, 162-132, in its final regular-season home meet inside Graham Natatorium on Friday.
 
A total of 14 women logged personal best times against Division I Penn on Friday, including Megan Sensenig (Wyomissing, Pa./Wilson) and Kellen Redcay (Reading, Pa./Wilson), who combined for five individual personal bests.
 
Friday marked Senior Day for the women's swim team, which bid adieu to its lone graduating senior, Tess Hayward.
 
Leading the way was freshman Georgia Wright (Doncaster, Pa), who won two events. She set off the 1000-yard freestyle, earning a first-place finish with a time of 10 minutes, 19.11 seconds. Not to mention, she also grabbed first in the 500 free with a time of 5:03.65. Wright also posted a pair of runner-up performances in the 200 backstroke ( 2:09.88) while helping the 200 free relay to a second-place showing.
 
Freshman Meghan Keithly (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) earned herself a first-place finish Friday night by taking first in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:06.83.
 
The Golden Rams also swept the top three spots in the 200 free relay Friday evening.
The 'A' team consisted of Morgan Haney (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) leading the pack, Tess Hayward (Elizabethtown, Pa ./Elizabethtown), Keithly and Mikaela Lantz (Reading, Pa./21st Century Cyber School). The team finished with a time of 1:36.50.
 
The "B" team consisted of two freshmen, Sensenig, Georgia Wright as well as a pair of sophomores Sydney Wareham (Mount Joy, Pa./Donegal) and Emelie Johansson (Taby, Sweden) as they clocked in at 1:41.91. Lastly, the "C" team foursome of sophomore Redcay, junior Nyman Lolo (Umea, Sweden), Taylor Hoover (York, Pa./West York), and Felicia Grego (McAdoo, Pa./Hazelton) finished with a time of 1:43.60.
 
Freshman Nadia Mulder (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey) and Freshman Lindsey Pope (York Haven, Pa./Northeastern) dominated the 3-meter diving event taking first and second place Friday evening.
 
Some of the notable finishes consisted of sophomore Megan Burns (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven), who did well in her second-place performance of the 100 back with a time of 59.94.  
 
Freshman Megan Sensenig (Wyomissing, Pa./Wilson) pulled second in the 100 free while senior Tess Hayward (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) had a strong performance in her second-place finish of the 500 free, behind Wright.
 
The PSAC Championships will take place at the Graham Aquatic Center in York, Pa., from Feb. 16-19.
