Lokey Registers No. 400 Against Concord, 6-4

CLERMONT, Fl. – Head coach Diane Lokey picked up her 400th career win at the helm for West Chester today as the Golden Rams produced a 6-4 victory over Concord University at the PFX Games down in Clermont, Florida.
 
Jr., Amanda Houck (Gap, Pa./Pequea Valley) (4-2) went the distance in the circle, going seven innings while giving up nine hits and four earned runs in the process.
 
The Golden Rams (7-3) held a two-run advantage over Concord (8-10) heading into the bottom of the seventh inning. Concord was not able to capitalize on a pair of singles as they left two runners on base to end the game.
 
Lokey's squad jumped out to an early 3-0 lead right off the bat. In the top of the first inning, freshman Bri Garber (Willow Street, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg) smacked a triple to right field and later scored on a fielder's choice.
 
Jr., Sara Ercolani (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) walked and recorded a run off of a Cat Hammer (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) sacrifice fly. Shortstop Alyssa Herion (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) registered a single to center field that rounded out the scoring.
 
Garber provided an RBI in the fourth, while Hammer homered to right-center in the fifth to give West Chester a five run lead. Hammer, who played catcher finished with a team-high 3 RBIs in the game.
 
Concord cut the deficit in the sixth inning by tacking on three runs through four hits. This marked the first of 12 games for the Golden Rams at the PFX Games.
 
West Chester will play Merrimack College next for its second game of the day.
