WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Sarah Walasavage (Minersville, Pa./Minersville) hit a grand slam, and
Sara Ercolani (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) added a solo shot in game two as 21st-ranked West Chester swept a non-league softball doubleheader from visiting Bowie State Wednesday afternoon on South Campus.
West Chester (29-7) took the opener, 8-1, before winning game two, 8-0, in five innings over Bowie State (12-14).

Amanda Houck (Gap, Pa./Pequea Valley) threw a complete-game in the nightcap to register her 17th straight win on the season. She is 19-2 overall this spring for the Golden Rams.
Brooke Harner (Chadds Ford, Pa./Kennett) picked up her fifth win of the year, against just one loss, in the opener.
Haley Bollinger (Maytown, Pa./Donegal) went 2-for-2 with a double and a pair of runs scored in the second game. Walasavage went 2-for-3 with three runs scored in the opener. Emily Maseth (Westminster, Md./Westminster) was 2-for-3 with a two-run double in the first game as well.
West Chester travels to Kutztown on Friday for a critical PSAC East showdown between the top two teams in the division. The Golden Rams will then travel to Holy Family on Saturday.
