WEST CHESTER, Pa.-The West Chester women's swimming and diving team squared off against NYU in a special senior day meet inside Graham Natatorium on Saturday afternoon. West Chester went on to win the meet by a score of 183-115.
The first event on the docket was the 200 yard medley relay where the Golden Rams captured first and third with times of 1:47.51 and 1:52.52 respectively. The first place team was comprised of
Lizzy Miller (), Katelyn Chick (West Chester, Pa./Villa Maria), Meghan Keithly (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East), and Mikaela Lantz (Reading, Pa./Reading) while
Abby Buckley (Aberdeen, N.J./Matawan Aberdeen), Sarah Fisher (Conshohocken, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh), Cameron Ducey (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty), and Megan Sensenig (Wyomissing, Pa./Wilson) made up the third place team.
Georgia Wright(Doncaster, England) captured first in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:23.23 while teammates
Emma O'Neill (Glenside, Pa./Abington) and
Grace Carey (West Chester, Pa./Villa Maria) took third and fourth with times of 10:39.45 and 10:45.02 respectively.
Julia McCarthy (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) took first in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:54.73 while
Sydney Wareham (Mount Joy, Pa./Donegal) finished in third with a time of 1:59.07.
Lolo Nyman (Umea, Sweden) rounded out the West Chester contingent finishing in fifth with a time of 1:59.71.
Miller took second in the 100 yard backstroke registering a time of 59.42 while
Megan Burns (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) finished in third with a time of 59.95.
Emily Haudek (Wantage, N.J./High Point Regional) finished in fifth with a time of 1:01.98. Meanwhile in the 100 yard breaststroke Chick captured second with a time of 1:07.50 while Fisher finished in third with a time of 1:09.05.
Emelie Johansson (Taby, Sweden) finished in fourth with a time of 1:09.83.
Keithly captured first in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:09.37 while
Felicia Grego (McAdoo, Pa./Hazleton) finished in third with a time of 2:14.04. Ducey finished in fifth with a time of 2:14.85.
West Chester took the top two spots in the 50 yard freestyle as
Morgan Haney (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) took first with a time of 23.99 while Lantz finished in second with a time of 24.43. Sensenig finished in sixth with a time of 25.79.
West Chester also captured the top three spots in the 100 yard freestyle as Wareham took first with a time of 54.07 while Lantz was second with a time of 54.57 and Miller was third registering a time of 55.11.
In the 200 yard backstroke Buckley was the top finisher for West Chester as she finished in second with a time of 2:10.03 while Burns and Haudek finished in third and fourth with times of 2:12.05 and 2:12.99 respectively.
In the yard breaststroke Chick touched the wall first for West Chester finishing in second with a time of 2:26.55 while Fisher and McCarthy finished in third and fourth with times of 2:27.03 and 2:29.22.
Wright also took first in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:06.15 while
Kimmi Szajnuk (Enola, Pa./Trinity) and Johansson took third and fourth with times of 5:12.38 and 5:13.78.
Keithly touched the wall first in the 200 yard butterfly in 58.13 while Haney finished in second with a time of 58.18. Haudek captured fifth with a time of 1:00.61.
The Golden Rams took second and third in the 200 yard IM as Burns registered a time of 2:12.40 to finish second while O'Neill clocked a time of 2:12.63 to finish third.
In the 400 yard freestyle relay West Chester took first, third, and fifth with times of 3:37.19, 3:41.59, and 3:49.52. The first place team was made up of Haney, Keithly, Lantz, and Wareham while the third place team was comprised of
Morgan Haines (Reinholds, Pa./Cocalico), Sensenig, Miller, and Wright. The fifth place team included Carey, Fox, Nyman, and Szajnuk.
In the 1 meter diving
Nadia Mulder (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey) took first with a score of 278.25. Mulder also captured first in the 3 meter diving with a score of 246.
West Chester is back in action on Friday night when they travel to Penn.
