Bethlehem, Pa.-The West Chester University women's swimming and diving team was back in action on Friday night at Lehigh. The meet came down to the final relay, but Lehigh prevailed by a score of 128-115.
Georgia Wright (Doncaster, England) was a double-winner as she captured both the 1000 and 500-yard freestyles in times of 10 minutes and 27.23 seconds and 5:05.20 seconds, respectively.
The 200-medley relay team of
Elizabeth Miller (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy), Katelyn Chick (West Chester, Pa./Villa Maria), Ann Carozza (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East), and
Mikaela Lantz (Reading, Pa./Reading) started the night off by capturing the relay in 1:47.76 almost three seconds faster then the second-place team from Lehigh.
Carozza was not finished as she picked up another victory in the 200-butterfly with a time of 2:05.59, which defeated the second-place time of 2:08.65. Chick also added another win of her own before the night was over capturing the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:24.80.
Nadia Mulder (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey) took first in the 3m diving competition while finishing runner-up in the 1m diving competition.
West Chester also performed well in the 200-yard Individual Medley (IM), taking the top two spots as
Megan Burns (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) captured first with a time of 2:10.00 just 0.90 seconds ahead of teammate
Julia McCarthy (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty).
West Chester will be back in the pool next Friday night at Bloomsburg beginning at 5 p.m.
