No. 14 West Chester Handles Seton Hill, 16-3



WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Sami Barnett (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) scored five goals and Trisha Baud (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) added a hat trick to lead No. 14 West Chester to a 16-3 victory over visiting Seton Hill on a cold and windy Saturday afternoon at Vonnie Gros Field.
 
West Chester (7-0, 2-0 PSAC) limited Seton Hill (2-5, 1-2) to just one goal in the contest until the final five minutes of the game when the Griffins potted the final two tallies to remain unbeaten on the season.
 
Barnett finished with six points, adding an assist to her goal-scoring numbers. Tatum Altman (North Brunswick, N.J./North Brunswick) scored two goals and picked up one assist to finish with three points. The Golden Rams scored 16 of the game's first 17 goals to take control of the match early on.
 
West Chester held a 14-8 advantage in draw controls, winning 11 of 13 draws in the first half. The Golden Rams had strung together 15 straight draws, dating back to the second half of its game against Slippery Rock, before Seton Hill secured the ball on a draw to break the string. West Chester also forced Seton Hill into 20 turnovers on the afternoon and limited the Griffins to just 11 shots.
 
Nicole Martins (Bethlehem, Pa./Saucon Valley) improved to 4-0 on the year with the win in the cage. She played the first half and made three saves. Julianne Clemens (Springfield, Pa./Springfield-DELCO) played the second half and made five saves.
 
West Chester hosts defending PSAC champion East Stroudsburg on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Vonnie Gros Field.
