Buckhannon, W.V.- The West Chester University men's tennis team was back in action on Saturday afternoon at West Virginia Wesleyan for a non-league matchup. West Chester battled hard all afternoon but Wesleyan prevailed 9-0.

In doubles play the first doubles pairing of
Lucas Von Der Hyde (Exton, Pa./Great Valley) and
Charlie Rushing (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) battled throughout but ultimately fell 8-5.
Adam Courtemanche (Greenville, R.I./Smithfield) and
Lucien Dececco (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) had a similar fate in second doubles as they fell 8-2. The third doubles pairing went to West Virignia Wesleyan by default due to a West Chester injury, which gave West Virginia Wesleyan a 3-0 lead heading to singles.

In the first singles matchup Von Der Hyde gave his opponent run but it was not enough as he dropped his matchup 6-3, 6-2. Rushing dropped his second singles matchup as well as did Courtemanche in the third singles spot (6-1, 6-1). Dececco battled hard in the fourth spot but he fell 6-2, 6-0 and
Gavin Kenny (Hanover,Pa./South Western) dropped the fifth singles spot 6-0, 6-1. The sixth spot went to Wesleyan by default once again due to injury, which led to the 9-0 defeat.

West Chester will be back in action tomorrow afternoon against another Mountain East conference foe in the University of Charleston.
