WEST CHESTER, Pa.
- The West Chester University women's soccer team (11-4-2, 10-4-2 PSAC) is primed for a PSAC Tournament run beginning on Tuesday evening on the road against No. 1 seed Bloomsburg (16-1-1, 14-1-1 PSAC). Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. at Steph Pettit Stadium on the campus of Bloomsburg University.

Admission for all rounds of the PSAC Tournament is $10 for adults, $5 for students, who are not from a PSAC Institution, and free of charge for any student from a PSAC member school with valid ID.

This year's appearance continues West Chester's streak of making the PSAC Tournament to 17 as the Golden Rams have qualified for the postseason event every year since 2003. Additionally, Head Coach Betty Ann Kempf Townsley will be making her 14th consecutive PSAC Tournament appearance seeking to better her PSAC Tournament record of 16-9, after going 1-1 in the tournament a year ago.

The Golden Rams have won PSAC Championship four times with the most recent title coming in 2010. Overall, West Chester holds an all-time record of 17-11-5 in the PSAC Championships as it begins play on Tuesday afternoon Bloomsburg, the defending tournament champion, has tallied four PSAC titles of its own.

West Chester and Bloomsburg have already squared off twice this season. Once in early October where the Golden Rams lost in a 2-0 game versus the Huskies. At the beginning of November, the Huskies traveled to West Chester to face off against the Golden Rams in a game that ended in a 0-0 tie after double overtime. In the most recent meeting between these two sides, both fought a long defensive battle of 110 minutes. West Chester was able to outshoot the Huskies, 22-4 in the game.

The Golden Rams suffered just four defeats on the season. West Chester had a total of six shutouts while senior goalkeeper, Brooke Myers (Hershey, Pa./Middletown) made 37 saves during the regular season. They went 4-2-1 in the month of October, only losing two tough battles with Bloomsburg and East Stroudsburg.

Junior Hannah Zach (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) has been the leading scorer this season for the Golden Rams with 10 goals. Sophomore Dani Cady (Yardley, Pa./Yardley) has been an electric addition to the Golden Rams offense this year with four assists and two goals. Two of the senior captains, Madison Baxter (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) and Jenny Bail (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) have made their mark for the Golden Rams with a combined 10 goals and five assists.

Bloomsburg is a dangerous team to be sure as the Huskies enter Tuesday's matchup with a record of 16-1-1, after only losing to East Stroudsburg in double overtime early in September and tying with West Chester earlier this month. Lauren Hoelke for the Huskies has 10 goals on the season and a total of 29 points. The Golden Rams were able to hold her to zero shots on goal during their last matchup with the Huskies. Hoelke is in fifth place in the PSAC for goals on this season, but West Chester's Hannah Zach is not far behind in sixth place.

With a win Tuesday afternoon, West Chester would advance to the Championship weekend once again in 2019 where the Golden Rams would square off against the winner of the Edinboro vs. Mercyhurst matchup with that contest being played at the home of the highest remaining seed from the PSAC Western Division on Friday afternoon.
