BABSON PARK, Fla. – The West Chester University men's tennis team took the court for the first time in five months on Saturday, as the Golden Rams kicked off the spring season with a match against Webber International down in Babson Park, Florida. The Golden Rams went on to drop a 7-0 decision to the Warriors on Saturday in the first of three matches in the Sunshine State.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The host Warriors ran through doubles on Saturday in convincing fashion, as Webber Intentional outscored West Chester 24-5 to sweep doubles action to start to afternoon.
- Junior Devin Paulison (MILFORD, PA/DELAWARE VALLEY) fell 0-6, 1-6 at second position to start singles play, before freshman Chris Succi (YARDLEY, PA/PENNSBURG HIGH SCHOOL) suffered a 2-6, 4-6 defeat at first flight to put the Golden Rams behind 0-3.
- Junior Adam Courtemanche (GREENVILLE, RI/SMITHFIELD) followed with 3-6, 3-6 loss at the No. 3 spot to give Webber its fourth point, prior to freshman Noah DeCampo (LITTLESTOWN, PA/LITTLESTOWN) surrendered the 1-6, 0-6 decision at fifth flight to give the Warriors the fifth-and-deciding point of the match.
