WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University men's tennis team (0-17) concluded its season on Saturday afternoon with a 6-1 loss at the hands of a strong, regional foe in the University of Charleston (Wv.).
Adam Courtemanche (Greenville, R.I./Smithfield) earned the lone victory of the day for West Chester in the third singles spot and also recorded his first victory of the season.
At first doubles,
Chris Succi (Yardley, Pa./Pennsburg) and
Devin Paulison (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) fell 6-1 before Courtemanche and Spano also fell 6-1 to drop the Golden Rams to 0-2 in doubles play. The third doubles match was competitive throughout but
Gavin Kenny (Hanover, Pa./South Western) and
Noah Decampo (Littlestown, Pa./Littlestown) eventually fell 6-4 to give Charleston the first point of the match heading to singles play.
At first singles, Succi fell 6-1, 6-1 before Paulison fell 6-1, 6-1 as well to give Charleston a 3-0 lead. Courtemanche captured his third singles match 6-4, 7-5 to get West Chester on the board while Spano fell 6-2, 6-2 in fourth singles. Kenny dropped his fifth singles match 6-4, 6-2 before Decampo lost sixth singles 6-2, 6-2 to bring the match to its 6-1 conclusion in favor of Charleston.
