No. 2 West Chester Tops Seton Hill, 8-0

GREENSBURG, Pa. – Three different players registered a pair of goals, and the Golden Rams did not allow the Griffins a shot in the game, as No. 2 West Chester defeated Seton Hill, 8-0, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) field hockey match Saturday.
 
West Chester (6-0, 1-0 PSAC) opened up conference play in dominating fashion over host Seton Hill (1-5, 0-1).
 
How It Happened:
  • Emma Velez (Coatesville, Pa./Bishop Shanahan), Kat Roncoroni (Lebanon Twp.,/Voorhees) and Marre Corver (Arvanderleen, The Netherlands) each scored a pair of goals to set the pace for the attack.
  • Sophia Morrison (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) and Caitie McNamara (Buderim, Australia) also tallied for the Golden Rams in the fourth quarter.
  • Velez and Roncoroni each picked up an assist in the win as well
  • Katie Thompson (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills) posted a pair of assists.
 
Inside the Box Score:
  • West Chester's defense did not allow Seton Hill a single shot in the game, holding a decided 38-0 edge in that department. West Chester also did not allow a penalty corner In the contest, showing a 28-0 advantage in that category.
  • Claire Nielsen (Wescosville, Pa./Emmaus) played the first 45 minutes of the game and picked up her sixth straight win in goal. Marycate London (Oxford, Pa./Oxford) played the fourth quarter in goal.
  • The two goals by Marre Corver marked a career-high for the defender.
