HERSHEY, PA - Chris Warner (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) leads the Golden Rams' contingent at the 2021 PSAC Men's Golf Championships with a 2-over 73 as West Chester currently sits seventh following the opening round Friday.
West Chester shot a 300 as a team Friday, but could not keep pace with the leaders in an extremely competitive field. Pitt-Johnstown leads the 10-team field with a 284 while Gannon is second with a 289 and Indiana (Pa.) third with a 292. Mercyhurst is the fourth team in the field that came in under 300 with a 297. Shepherd and Millersville are tied for fifth with a 299. California (Pa.) is right behind West Chester with a 303 and Clarion and Bloomsburg round out the field with a 308 and 317, respectively.
Gannon's Abe Holmes and UPJ's Mario Battaglia are the individual leaders after Round 1, each signing for a 2-under 69. Three golfers were under par and two more even on Friday. Round two of the 54-hole event takes place Saturday.
