Women's Swimming Races Past Arcadia

WEST CHESTER, Pa.-
The West Chester women's swimming and diving team returned to action on Friday evening against Arcadia and stayed unbeaten, as the Golden Rams captured 11 of 14 events en route to a 165-84 victory over the visiting Knights.

West Chester kicked off its successful evening with a victory in the 400 medley relay with a time of three minutes and 38.56 seconds while also taking second place in the event with a time of 4:04.96.

Keeley Durkin (Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley) logged the first individual victory of the evening for West Chester in the 1000-free with a time of 10:57.17 while teammate Corrine McCall (Archbald, Pa./Scranton Prep) touched the wall in second with a time of 10:57.97.

In the 200 free, Ann Carrozza (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) continued her winning ways with her first of two victories on the evening with a time of 1:53.13. Carrozza logged her second victory of the evening in the 50 free, touching the wall in 23.90 seconds. Mikayla Niness (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) turned in a second-place showing in the 200-free, with a time of 1:58.04 before capturing the 100-free in 53.93.

Lila DiCarlo (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) kept things going for West Chester with a victory in the 100 back, turning in a time of 1:00.50 while Madelyn Koehle (State College, Pa./State College Area) took the 100-breast with a time of 1:07.51.

 In the 200 fly, it was Sophia Gerhart (Spring Mills, Pa./Penn Valley Area) who led the way for the Golden Rams, as she earned her first victory of the night with a time of 2:11.46. Callie Paff (York, Pa./Central York) logged a second-place finish in this event before capturing the 200-back with a time of 2:09.98 .

McKenzie Hemingway (Chestertown, Md./Queen Anne's County) also turned in a solid performance in the victory as she finished second in the 50-free with a time of 24.81 before capturing the 200-breast with a time of 2:28.54.

The final Golden Ram victory of the evening came from Caitlin Hamill (Collegeville, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) who touched the wall in 5:18.12 to win the 500-free and help lead West Chester to the victory over Arcadia.

West Chester will be back in action next Friday evening at Lehigh with that meet set to begin at 5 p.m.
