BELLE VERNON, PA – West Chester University's men's golf squad is currently eighth out of 17 schools following 36 holes of golf in the team's fall opener at the Vulcan Invitational at the Cedarbrook Golf Course Sunday afternoon.
West Chester put a pair of golfers in the Top 20 and opened the 2021-22 campaign with much better performances from its five linksters than they closed the pandemic-plagued 2021 spring.
Jacob Sokalsky (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) and
Connor Stine (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Twp.) are each tied for 19th after two rounds. Sokalsky shot a 6-under 30 on the back nine his first time around the course. Stine carded a team-low 69 in the second round.
West Chester shot a 578 in the first two rounds. The third and final round will get under way Monday morning.
