West Chester Women Outdistance Opponents in Tri-Meet to Open 2022-23 Season

MEET RESULTS

WEST CHESTER, PA – West Chester University's women's swimming & diving team swept a tri-meet with Shippensburg and Southern Connecticut State Saturday afternoon at Graham Natatorium.
 
West Chester topped SCSU, 206-82, and downed Shippensburg, 217-63.
 
The Golden Rams' ladies won all 14 events in the pool while Evie Altland (Middletown, Pa./Lancaster County Day) topped the field in the 3m diving competition to spark West Chester's win.
 
Fifth-year senior Ann Carozza (West Chester, Pa./East) won three individual events and led off the 400 free relay that also won to lead the Golden Rams' charge. She took first in the 200-yard freestyle and both the 100 and 200 butterfly. Keeley Durkin (Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley) won the 500 and 1000 free while Mikayla Niness (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) won both the 50 and 100 free.
 
Lila DiCarlo (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) led off the 200 medley relay that took first place in the opening event of the meet. She then placed first in the 100 backstroke. Isabella Kil (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) was also on that 200 medley relay. She took first in the 100 breaststroke later in the meet.
 
Danielle Stewart (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) won the 200 back, and Madelyn Koehle (State College, Pa./State College) won the 200 breaststroke. Sophie Gerhart (Spring Mills, Pa./Penn Valley) won the 200 individual medley and placed second in the 500 free to Durkin.
 
The Golden Rams will be back in the pool and on the diving boards on Oct. 15 for another tri-meet at home against Lehigh and Bloomsburg.
