No. 4 West Chester Closes Regular Season With 22-8 Win Over Kutztown

WEST CHESTER, PAHannah Stanislawczyk (Mohnton, Pa./Gov. Mifflin) posted a season-high seven goals and grabbed six draws to lead fourth-ranked West Chester to a 22-8 victory over Kutztown in the regular-season finale.

With the win, the Golden Rams (14-1, 11-1 PSAC East) secured at least a share of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division regular-season crown. East Stroudsburg (14-1, 10-1) has one game left in its regular-season on Saturday, and a win would even the Warriors with the Golden Rams atop the East standings.

ESU holds the tie-breaker with WCU meaning that West Chester would receive the No. 2 seed in the 2022 PSAC Tournament next week and would host the third seed in a quarterfinal matchup at Vonnie Gros Field on Tuesday, May 3 at 4 p.m. If ESU loses on Saturday, West Chester would then win the East outright and would be the No. 1 seed – receiving a bye to the conference semifinals May 6 and 8 at the top seed in the West.

As for Wednesday's win over Kutztown, West Chester opened the contest with a season-best 11 goals in the opening quarter and never looked back. All three goalkeepers saw playing time, 10 different players registered a goal – including four off the bench – and the Golden Rams successfully cleared the ball on all 13 attempts while holding the Golden Bears below .500 on clears (9-for-19).

Julia Littlewood (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) scored a season-best four goals and posted another season best with six points to support Stanislawczyk's effort. Keri Barnett (Glenolden, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) had a hat trick and four points while securing eight draws. Grace Frasso (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) registered seven draws as well. The Golden Rams held a 22-10 advantage over Kutztown on draws for the game.

Jessica Gorr (Exton, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) improved to 10-0 in the cage, making one save in 22 minutes of action. Amber Weedon (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville) made two saves in almost 30 minutes of work while Ellie Hughes (Abington, Pa./Abington) did not have to make a save the rest of the way.

The Golden Rams will await their first-round playoff opponent next week.
