MOHNTON, Pa.- Jacob Sokalsky (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) fired an even-par 72 at the Alvernia Fall Invitational at LedgeRock Golf Club in Mohnton, Pa. on Tuesday to capture the individual Tournament title and help lead West Chester to the team title with a team score of 302.
Sokalsky turned in a strong effort on Tuesday afternoon, registering five birdies on his round, including three in his first four holes while also going a field-best three under on the par fives of LedgeRock on Tuesday afternoon en route to the Tournament title.
As a team, West Chester edged out fellow PSAC Institution Millersville for the team title, winning by six strokes as the Marauders finished a close second with a team-score of 308, thanks in large part to a field-best even par effort on the four-par fives, which LedgeRock had to offer. All told, four of the Golden Rams finished in the top-15 with three of them finishing inside the top-10. This victory marks the second year in a row in which West Chester has captured the Alvernia Invitational after winning the team title at the Spring edition of the event in April of last year.
