No. 1 West Chester Concludes Regular-Season Unbeaten with Win at Millersville

MILLERSVILLE, PA -  West Chester put the final touches on an unblemished regular season with a 24-12 victory over host Millersville in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) women's lacrosse match inside Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium Saturday.
 
West Chester (17-0, 12-0 PSAC East) finished the regular season unbeaten for the second time in the last three years and eighth time overall. It is the fourth time that the Golden Rams have turned the trick under head coach Ginny Martino. It is also the 14th time that West Chester has won the regular-season crown under Martino outright with another four tacked on that the Golden Rams shared.
 
Millersville finished the year 9-8 overall and 6-6 in conference play and in fourth place in the Eastern Division standings.
 
Graduate student, Lindsay Monigle (Rehoboth Beach, Del./Cape Henlopen) posted three of her five goals in the first quarter. She powered a five-goal spurt late in the first and the early stages of the second quarter when she scored three of the tallies herself while assisting on another. Monigle added five assists to end the day with 10 points, tying her career high.
 
Julia Littlewood (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) scored four goals and added an assist for five points on the day. Meg O'Donnell (Hatboro, Pa./Upper Moreland) registered a hat trick. The Marauders were led by Hayden Corcoran's four goals on the day. Hannah Stanislawczyk (Mohnton, Pa./Gov. Mifflin) scored two goals, but more importantly, scooped up 10 draw controls for the Golden Rams.
 
Golden Rams goalkeeper, Jessica Gorr (Exton, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) made nine saves for her 17th win of the season. Millersville's Morgan Scott recorded 11 saves.
 
West Chester will host the 2023 PSAC postseason tournament semifinals and finals next Friday and Sunday, May 5 and May 7. Tickets to the postseason tournament will be $10 for adults and $5 for students. No comp tickets will be available. Purchase of tickets to the semifinals and finals will be online sale only. Students from PSAC institutions with a valid ID will be admitted free of charge.
 
The Golden Rams and Seton Hill, winner of the PSAC Western Division, have earned byes into the semifinals on May 5. Quarterfinal round games will take place on Tuesday, May 2 on campus sites.
