West Chester Fourth After Day One of Cottrell Invite

WEST CHESTER, PA – The West Chester men's golf team sits in fourth place following Day One of the 13th Annual Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational at Penn Oaks Golf Club Monday afternoon.
 
The Golden Rams shot a 301 on the par-71 course that played to 6,700 yards. Teammates Jacob Sokalsky (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) and Ryan D'Ariano (West Chester, Pa./Rustin) sit in a tie for sixth place with scores of 74 to lead the Purple & Gold contingent.
 
Four of West Chester's five golfers placed in the Top 15 after Round 1 on their home course. Gannon and Indiana (Pa.) are tied atop the team leaderboard with identical 297 scores. IUP's Alex Swinnerton shot a 70 on Monday for the low round. He is in the lead heading into tomorrow's final round.
