BLOOMSBURG, PA –
Frankie Taylor (Delran, N.J./Delran) headed in a service from
Josh Daniels (Fleetwood, Pa./Oley Valley) off a direct kick with 1:19 remaining lifting visiting West Chester to a thrilling 1-0 win over host Bloomsburg at Steph Pettit Stadium Saturday evening in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match.
West Chester (5-0-1, 2-0 PSAC East) picked up its third straight win and remained unbeaten on the year staying one step ahead of both Millersville and East Stroudsburg in the conference standings for the time being. Bloomsburg fell to 1-2-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the PSAC.
Daniels took the kick after
Christian Vorchheimer (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) was fouled about 30 yards out. His service into the box found the head of Taylor, who buried it into the back of the net.
Daniel Good (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) made a pair of saves to pick up his third shutout of the season. Bloomsburg's Brady Rimple also made two saves in the loss.
West Chester continues its conference play on Wednesday with a 2 p.m. start at home against Shippensburg.
