MILLERSVILLE, PA – West Chester University's women's soccer squad came up short on the road at Millersville in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division showdown Wednesday evening.
West Chester (3-2-1, 3-2-0 PSAC East) remains in second place in the league standings while Millersville (2-2-2, 2-2-1) moved into a tie for third place with East Stroudsburg.
Millersville's Isabel Coy scored both goals for the hosts sandwiched around
Julia Raybold's (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) first tally of the season. Coy's first goal of the game and fourth of the season in the 11th minute put the Marauders on top, 1-0. Raybold evened the scoring in the 53rd minute. However, Coy added her second of the game less than one minute later to restore Millersville's one-goal lead.
That is how the game stood.
Grace Keen (Lincoln University, Pa./Avon Grove) made four saves in the loss while Millersville's Bella Fiorenza made eight stops in the win.
West Chester returns home on Saturday for a noon contest against PSAC East foe Lock Haven at Rockwell Field.
