Pungello's Header Lifts Women's Soccer to 1-0 Victory at Bloomsburg

Box Score BLOOMSBURG, Pa.- Victoria Pungello (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) scored her first goal of the year late in the first half, and the Golden Ram defense ensured this tally would be all the West Chester University women's soccer team (5-2-1,5-2-0) as the Golden Rams defeated Bloomsburg by a 1-0 final on Saturday afternoon.

Pungello gave West Chester the lead heading into the halftime break, scoring her first goal of the year in the 34th minute on a header off an assist from Alyson Cutter (Warrington, Pa./C.B. South) as the junior forward picked up her fifth point in the last two games.

In the second half, West Chester continued to threaten, getting a pair of good looks in the 46th and 50th minutes from Pungello and Jacqueline Hug (West Chester, Pa./Unionville), but Riley Spingler managed both chances to keep the deficit at 1-0.

In the 51st minute, Bloomsburg got one of its few strong looks of the second half, but the chance from Kennedy Kilchrist went high, thus keeping the Huskies off the scoreboard.
