West Chester Women Split Tri-Meet with Lehigh and Bloomsburg

MEET RESULTS

WEST CHESTER, PA – West Chester University's women's swimming and diving program split a tri-meet against Lehigh and Bloomsburg Saturday afternoon inside Graham Natatorium.
 
West Chester topped Bloomsburg by the measure of 155-59 while narrowly being edged by Lehigh, 112-108. Along the way, the Golden Rams took first place in XX events to help the team to victory.
 
Dani Stewart (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) won the 1650-yard freestyle and was runner-up in the 500 free. Her winning time in the 1650 was 17:49.77. Isabella Kil (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) won the 200 individual medley while her sister, Sam Kil (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) led off the 200 free relay that was a winner. Kil was followed by Ditta Kowalik (State College, Pa./State College Area), and a pair of local products, Sam Heiland (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) and Shannon Gamble (West Chester, Pa./Henderson). Kowalik also finished third in the 1650.
 
Madelyn Koehle (State College, Pa./State College Area) won the 200 breaststroke in 2:23.26. Susana Ungo Quero (Madrid, Spain) won the 200 butterfly in 2:04.31. She was also second in the 200 free.
 
Off the diving boards on North Campus inside Hollinger Field House, Kacey Lenz (Swarthmore, Pa./Ridley) was second in the 1-meter springboard competition while Alicia McHugh (Jenkintown, Pa./Abington) was fourth. The two switched positions in the 3m event with McHugh taking runner-up and Lenz placing fourth.
 
West Chester will be back in action Nov. 21-23 when the Golden Rams travel to Gambier, Ohio and Kenyon University for the Total Performance Invitational.
