GOLDEN RAMS TRAVEL TO EAST STROUDSBURG WITH A LOT ON THE LINE
• West Chester (11-5, 4-3) heads to East Stroudsburg Tuesday afternoon for an ever-important Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference field hockey tilt. The Golden Rams are currently tied for fourth in the league standings and trying to lock down a third, or fourth, seed in the postseason tournament that would give them a home game in the quarterfinals. A win over No. 2 ESU would go a long way to accomplishing that goal.
• East Stroudsburg is trying to hold onto its No. 2 seed in the league standings that would bring with it a first-round bye in the PSAC Tournament and an automatic bid to the conference semifinals.
• Jasmine Miller is coming off a very productive week that saw her register a hat trick against Limestone University last Monday and finish with four goals on the week. Additionally, Paige Wolfe put in just as impressive of a week with an overtime game-winner against Kutztown. She finished the week with two goals and one assist for five points. Caitlynn Szarko also scored twice and assisted on another in West Chester's three wins last week. Szarko had the only goal in a win over Mansfield Saturday night.

WEST CHESTER vs. EAST STROUDSBURG – THE ALL-TIME SERIES
• West Chester holds a 33-11-3 mark against ESU in the all-time series. However, the Warriors have won the last four games in the matchup. The Golden Rams have not beaten the Warriors since the PSAC Semifinals in 2021 at Shippensburg. West Chester has not won in East Stroudsburg since 2019 – the last time the Golden Rams won the national championship.

WEST CHESTER vs. ESU (SEP. 20, 2024)
• Third-ranked East Stroudsburg scored a goal in the ninth minute and made that single tally hold up in a 1-0 win over sixth-ranked West Chester in a non-league field hockey contest Friday night at Vonnie Gros Field. West Chester saw its four-game win streak come to an end while East Stroudsburg extended its win streak to four straight.

Golden Rams' graduate student, Paige Wolfe, nearly tied the game late in the fourth quarter when her reverse chip sailed just high over the crossbar. Moments later on a penalty corner, Ella Shockley let go on a slapshot that just missed wide of the left post. Those were the two best opportunities for the hosts to draw even. West Chester pressed for the majority of the fourth quarter, but never could get the equalizer. East Stroudsburg had a goal disallowed with 1:20 left in the third quarter when the referees got together and determined that the shot was struck with the back-side of the stick. West Chester goalkeeper, Ryan Curley, made six saves in the loss.
