GOLDEN RAMS HOST THE NATION'S NO. 1 TEAM IN DIVISION II
• West Chester (7-3, 1-1) returns to the turf at Vonnie Gros after a week off to take on the top-ranked team in Division II as No. 1 Shippensburg (9-0, 2-0) visits Wednesday.
• West Chester is coming off a heart-breaking 1-0 loss on the road to Bloomsburg last week that ended a three-game winning streak. The Golden Rams are still nationally ranked in the Top 5 in the country and have been playing great defensively this season. They will need that to continue Wednesday against the Raiders. West Chester has allowed just eight goals in 10 games this fall.
• Shippensburg leads the PSAC in scoring with 45 goals in nine games. Conversely, the Raiders have only been scored upon twice this year. Emma Albee has been sensational in the cage for Shippensburg and the defense in front of her impeccable.
ABOUT SHIPPENSBURG
• Shippensburg (9-0, 2-0) is the No. 1 team in the country for a reason. They are the best team in the land both offensively and defensively. It is hard to find something you can take advantage of as an opponent. The Raiders are exceptional on all three lines and in the cage, and they are just as deep too. Teams need to capitalize if a mistake is made because opportunities will be few and far between against the Raiders.
• Shippensburg is 16-11 all-time against West Chester and brings an eight-game winning streak against the Golden Rams into Wednesday's contest. The Raiders have not lost to the Golden Rams since 2019. Goalkeeper Emma Albee has allowed just one goal on 27 shots in over 500 minutes of action. Her goals-against average is 0.12 and she has recorded all nine wins. Offensively, Agus Garibaldi averages one goal per game and leads the Raiders with 22 points (9G, 4A).
THE GOLDEN RAMS SOLID IN THE BACK
• West Chester has been riding the goalkeeping of graduate student transfer,
Ryan Curley (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) for the first 10 games of the season. She has allowed just six goals in almost 600 minutes in the cage for West Chester. Curley keeps the Golden Rams in most games.
• Senior All-America forward
Jasmine Miller (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) continues to lead the way offensively. She has eight goals on the year and 17 points. Midfielder
Adriana Palumbo (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) has scored four times and dished out four assists. She scored the overtime game-winner at Mansfield a little over a week ago.
Ella Shockley (Delmar, Del./Delmar) has scored four goals as well while also anchoring that back line in front of Curley.
Gianna Funari (Voorhees, N.J./Voorhees) has been another stalwart in the back for the Golden Rams.
