Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

Men’s Tennis Falls to Ursinus, 6-1

WEST CHESTER, PA.- The West Chester men's tennis team (1-13) played their second home match of the week against Ursinus College (11-6) Thursday evening. Aidan Cashin (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) earned a victory in fourth singles by a 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 final but this was the lone point of the day for the Golden Rams as the Bears escaped with a 6-1 victory.

West Chester started off the match with a third doubles 6-0 victory coming from Brady Burns (Narvon, PA/Pequea Valley) and Andrew Poprik (West Chester, PA/Unionville). Ursinus would tie the doubles contest with a 6-3 victory at first doubles focusing the attention to Lucas Henke (Rockwall, Tx/Rockwall-Heath) and Andres Urrutia (Guatemala City, Guatemala/APDE SOLALTO HS) at second doubles. The Golden Rams eventually fell 6-4 losing out to the all-important doubles point.

West Chester looked to mount a comeback comeback from its early 1-0 deficit as three of the six singles matches went to either a deciding set or tiebreaker. Ursinus went on to take control of the first, fifth, and sixth singles spot clinching the 4-0 victory before Cashin got West Chester on the board with his victory at fourth singles.
