SWIMMERS RETURN HOME WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON
West Chester returns home to Graham Natatorium for an in-season swim meet on Wednesday evening against the University of Pennsylvania. The Golden Rams look to put in a strong performance against the Quakers, who have recently competed in an Ivy-league tri-meet at Yale, where they placed second out of three teams.
West Chester is coming off a strong effort against the University of Delaware before the holiday break. They look to build off their last performance against the Blue Hens and after a long break and time in the pool look to swim away with a victory.
THE WOMEN – LAST TIME OUT
West Chester swimmers made a lot happen at their last competition, with having strong swims and personal bests. Leading the pool for the Golden Rams was Danielle Stewart (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) won the 1,000 free in 10:43.04, Sam Trumble (Dallastown, Pa./Dallastown) who picked the up the second event victory of the night for West Chester in the 50 free, finishing in 24.16 seconds, and Susana Ungo-Quero (Madrid, Spain), who captured a victory of her own in the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.60 . Other strong performances were in the 200 free, where Koehle finished in second place, reaching the wall in 1:57.11, while Sam Heiland (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) and Shannon Gamble (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) were close behind, finishing in fourth and fifth, respectively. Koehle also finished second in the 100 breast with a time of 1:05.45.For the divers Alicia McHugh (Jenkintown, Pa./Abington) led West Chester on the three-meter board with a second-place finish and a score of 255.38. McHugh also led West Chester on the one-meter board, finishing fifth with a score of 220.05.
