WEST CHESTER, PA. —
Caitlin Szarko (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty),
Erin O'Donnell (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) celebrated Senior Day with two goals apiece as West Chester downed visiting Frostburg State, 8-1, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) field hockey contest at Vonnie Gros Field Saturday.
Szarko added a pair of assists for a six-point afternoon while O'Donnell chipped in an assist for a five-point effort. Sophomore
Veerle Hersman (Lisse, The Netherlands) added a pair of goals as well for the Golden Rams, who netted their highest goal total of the season in a game and most since the 2022 campaign.
Sofia Brown (Broomall, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) scored a goal and picked up two assists for four points on the day as well.
West Chester (8-3, 3-1 PSAC) remains in a tie for second place in the PSAC standings with both Bloomsburg and Shippensburg. Frostburg (2-10, 0-4) dropped its third straight contest.

Audra Szymborksi (Furlong, Pa./Central Bucks East) only had to make one save in 45 minutes of action. Senior goalkeeper,
Alina Burger (Koenigs Wusterhausen, Brandenburg, Germany) played the second quarter.
The Golden Rams honored their seven seniors in a brief ceremony before the contest. Szarko, O'Donnell, Burger,
Bella Aulisio (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West),
Kennedy Graham (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley),
Gianna Jaszczak (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown West ) and
Ella Shockley (Delmar, Del./Delmar) were all recognized.
West Chester travels to Kutztown on Tuesday for a night game at Andre Reed Stadium at 7 p.m.
