Last Time Out

West Chester enters play on a two-game winning streak, its first such streak of the season after dismantling Lock Haven on the road on Saturday night by a 4-0 final. Kianna Barber (Browns Mills, N.J./BCIT) gave West Chester an early 1-0 lead just nine minutes into the match before Faith Matter (Middletown, Pa./Middletown) scored her first of two goals on the day in the 18th minute. Leading 2-0 at the half, West Chester got second-half goals from Matter and Lindsey Balmer (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) to stretch its lead to 4-0.

West Chester ended the game with a 26-4 lead in shots and a 17-2 lead in shots on goal, along with a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Flock Talk

Barber and Matter are tied for the team lead in points with nine points each, as Barber has a team-best four goals and one assist, while Matter has three goals and three assists. Balmer is close behind with five points, with two goals and one assist to her credit.

In goal, Grace Keen (Lincoln University, Pa./Avon Grove) is 4-1-2 with a 0.44 goals-against average and five shutouts. Keen has played all but 22 minutes in goal this year, with those remaining minutes being played by Sam Hollish (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham), who entered in the late stages of the win at Lock Haven on Saturday night.

Hot Streak

Barber has scored in four of the last five games for WCU, with the lone exception being a 1-1 draw at Bloomsburg on September 20. If Barber wasn't a difficult enough challenge for opposing defenses, Matter and Balmer have also been problematic in recent weeks. Matter turned in her first two-goal game of the season on Saturday at Lock Haven and, in doing so, has now recorded a point in four of the last five games and five of seven games this season, with the lone exceptions being a scoreless draw at Shippensburg and the 1-0 victory over Kutztown. For her part, Balmer scored a goal and assisted on another on Saturday and has five points in the last three games after also scoring the tying goal at Bloomsburg on September 20.

It's An Honor

Barber was honored as PSAC East Player of the Week earlier this week in recognition of her game-winning goals against Kutztown and Lock Haven a week ago. Barber enters play with a goal scored in four of the last five games for West Chester.

Hello Coach

In order to extend its winning streak to three in a row after a 4-0 win at Lock Haven on Saturday, head coach Betty Ann Kempf Townsley will have to defeat a former player on Wednesday afternoon, East Stroudsburg head coach Meagan DeWan. DeWan is a 2007 graduate of Seton Hall and was a four-year member of the Pirates, who earned Big East honors and led the Pirates in assists and points as a junior in one of Kempf Townsley's final years at the helm of the Pirates.

Former WCU goalkeeper, Regan Allsop, is also a member of the East Stroudsburg coaching staff, beginning her first season on the Warriors bench.

Series History

West Chester holds a 34-14-6 lead in the all-time series vs ESU after splitting the season series for the second year in a row a season ago. Last fall, West Chester fell to ESU by a 1-0 final in East Stroudsburg before getting two goals from Faith Matter to defeat the Warriors on Rockwell Field by a 2-0 final.

Scouting East Stroudsburg

East Stroudsburg (3-1-3, 2-1-3) enters play riding a two-game winning streak but remains in search of its first road win of the season at 0-1-1 away from home. Jade Wiley is the Warriors' leading scorer with four goals on the year for eight points. McKenna Chisholm and Sophia Lowery are the lone other goal scorers for ESU this season, with one goal each.

In goal, Emmy Clarskon is 3-0-3 with a 0.50 goals-against average, while Ava Perrone is 0-1-0 after allowing both goals in the loss at Kutztown earlier in September.
