Five Things to Know
- West Chester (8-1-1, 6-1-1) enters play on Wednesday on a three-game winning streak, including a 5-1 win at Lackawanna, a 3-1 win over Shepherd, and a dominant 3-0 victory over Bloomsburg last Saturday afternoon. Against Bloomsburg, Adriana Ryder (Hamilton, N.J./Steinert) picked up her second game-winning goal of the year with an eighth-minute long-distance goal before Jordan Nguyen (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Central) and Katie Dougherty (Glenmoore, Pa./Downingtown West) added goals of their own in the 36th and 64th minutes. Grace Keen (Lincoln University, Pa./Avon Grove) made nine saves in the win, including five in the second half to finish off the victory.
- Nguyen leads West Chester in scoring with seven goals and one assist for 15 points, while Kianna Barber (Browns Mills, N.J./BCIT) has two goals and a team-best six assists on the year. Including a hat trick against Mansfield earlier this season, which led to her earning PSAC East Athlete of the Week honors, Nguyen has scored in five of the last six games for West Chester, with the lone exception being a shutout loss at Kutztown on September 23rd for the team's first loss of the year. Keen, named PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week this week after making 15 saves over two victories last week, is 8-1-1 on the year with a goals-against average and five shutouts, with 30 saves in 791 minutes of action.
- West Chester opened the second half of PSAC East play with a convincing 3-0 win over Bloomsburg at home last Saturday, which helped the Golden Rams keep pace with Kutztown for the top spot in the PSAC East entering the final weeks of the 2026 season. West Chester and Kutztown are both 6-1-1 with 19 points, but Kutztown holds the head-to-head tiebreak over West Chester after a 1-0 win over the Golden Rams earlier this season.
- Millersville (6-2-3, 4-2-3) enters play following a 5-0 win over Mansfield for the Marauders' first win since a 2-0 victory over Lackawanna on September 12 after the 1-1 draw against the Golden Rams on September 16 sparked a four-match winless streak, including a 1-0 loss to Shepherd on September 23. Aubrey Strohecker has scored 15 goals in 11 games in 2026 and leads Division II in goals, while Sara Edwards has four goals and three assists for 11 points. Megan Taltavull is 6-2-3 in goal with a 0.59 goals-against average and six shutouts with 29 saves in 916 minutes of action.
- West Chester is 27-11-4 against Millersville in the all-time series after storming back for a late draw against the Marauders earlier this season to avoid its second home loss to the Marauders in the last three seasons. In the first meeting, Nguyen scored in the 86th minute to erase an early one-goal deficit after Strohecker, who leads Division II in goals, had opened the scoring just over six minutes into the match.
