5 Things to Know: Men's Cross Country Set for Golden Ram Invitational in Coatesville on Saturday

COATESVILLE, Pa.- The West Chester University men's cross country team is set to return to action on Saturday morning at the WCU Golden Ram Invitational at Plantation Field in Coatesville beginning at 9 a.m.

WCU Golden Ram Invitational
Location: Plantation Field (347 Green Valley Rd, Coatesville, PA 19320)
Length: 4K- 9 A.M.; 8 K- 10:30 A.M.

Five Things to Know
  1. West Chester returns to the course this week after an excellent performance at the 52nd Paul Short run as West Chester finished 28th in the Gold Division 8K against a host of Division I competitors, led by a pair of top-60 finishes from Matt Remishofski (Wall, N.J./Wall) and Josh Miller (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) in 43rd and 58th in 24 minutes and 53.8 second and 25:06.6, respectively.
  2. Remishofski's efforts led to him earning PSAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors as he was the top PSAC finisher in this race, and his 8K time was not only a new personal best but also the fastest 8K in the PSAC to this point in the season. Remishofski's honor marks the Golden Rams' second PSAC award of the fall, as Kyle Tracey was honored following the Dickinson Long-Short with PSAC and USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week honors.
  3. Miller made his long-awaited season debut last Friday at the Paul Short Run as he finished 58th in 25:06.6.
  4. West Chester returns to the course this weekend for the Golden Ram Invitational, which is also the final home meet of the fall for West Chester. The Golden Rams will compete alongside Cheyney, Coppin State, Delaware Valley, DeSales, Kutztown, Lincoln, Medgar-Evans, PSU-Scranton, RC-Gloucester CC, and Williamson.
  5. After last week's Paul Short Run was cut short due to heat, Saturday morning looks to be an excellent day for cross country with highs in the low-60s under partly cloudy skies.
Up Next

West Chester will be back in action later this month at Lock Haven for the Go-Fast River Run ahead of the PSAC Championships in Bloomsburg on November 7.
