MELBOURNE, Fl.- The West Chester University softball team (2-9) was back in action on Tuesday morning against Winona State and Nova Southeastern. The Golden Rams dropped both games of the doubleheader, falling in game one by a 6-4 final before dropping the nightcap by an 8-0 final in five innings.
Game One: Winona State 6 WCU 4

In the first game of the day, West Chester found itself down a pair heading into the fourth inning but responded with a four-run fourth, including RBI singles by
Tess Kearney (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) and
Danielle Ciliberto (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) and a bases-loaded walk by
Mairead Hopkins (West Chester, Pa./Rustin) to take a 4-2 lead.
This lead was short-lived as Winona State scored two runs in the fifth to tie the game and took the lead with an RBI single in the sixth before adding a run in the seventh via a fly ball to center en route to a 6-4 victory.
Danielle Ciliberto (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) got the start and allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits, while striking out three.
Alyssa Tooley (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) allowed two runs on a walk and two hits in her inning in relief to fall to 1-1 on the year, while
Maci Strechay (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) finished the game, pitching the final two innings, allowing an unearned run on three hits.
Ashley Theisen earned the win for Winona State in relief as she pitched 3.1 scoreless innings, allowing just two hits, while striking out six.
Game Two: Nova Southeastern 8 WCU 0 (5 Innings)
WP: Gracelyn Wallace (9-5)
LP: Strechay (0-3)
Nova Southeastern got out to an early 1-0 lead on an RBI single up the middle, which bounced off the second base bag, before adding three in the third with a three-run home run.
NSU tacked on two more in the fourth via a triple and its final two runs of the game in the fifth on bases loaded hit-by-pitches to earn an 8-0 victory over the Golden Rams.
Gracelyn Wallace was sharp in the circle for NSU, allowing just two hits while striking out four in five innings of work.
Strechay suffered the loss, allowing four runs (one earned) on four hits, while walking three in 2.2 innings of work.
