SALISBURY, N.C.- The West Chester University women's golf team returned to the course on Monday for the first 36 holes of the Pasty Rendleman Invitational at the Country Club of Salisbury in Salisbury, North Carolina. Led by
Hanna Lignell (Gothenburg, Sweden/Kitas Gymnasium), who is second on the individual leaderboard after 36 holes at +5 (69, 78; 147) while the Golden Rams are third on the team leaderboard with a 36-hole score of 633 (307, 326).
In the first round of the day, West Chester shot a 307, led by a two-under-par 69 by Lignell, which helped her out to a first-round lead. In her first round, Lignell carded six birdies, including birdies on the par-three sixth, 14
th, and 17
th, along with the par-four eighth, 12
th, and 16
th. Lignell's six first-round birdies were the best in the field after the first 18 holes. Lignell started her second round with bogey's on the par-four fifth and par-three sixth and finished her second round with a 78 (+7) to reside in second on the individual leaderboard after 36 holes.
Mary-Paige King of Catawba is first on the individual leaderboard at +4 after shooting a 70 in the first round and a 76 in the second for a 36-hole score of 146. Catawba also leads on the team leaderboard with a 36-hole score of 614 after shooting a 304 in the first round and a 310 in the second.
