Second Round Tee Times
KUTZTOWN, Pa.- The West Chester University women's golf team shot an opening round of 312 to sit comfortably in second on the team leaderboard after the first round of the PSAC Women's Golf Championships on Wednesday afternoon at Berkleigh Country Club in Kutztown.
West Chester enters play on Thursday just four strokes back of defending Champion Gannon, who was led by an even-par round from Anastasia Lopes, which has her atop the individual leaderboard after the opening round. West Chester is comfortably in second place after the first 18 holes as the team is 21 strokes clear of Bloomsburg, who is in third after Wednesday's first round with a team score of 333.
Hanna Lignell (Gothenburg, Sweden/Kitas Gymnasium) and
Fatima Rizvi (Lucknow, India/RPS Academies) are tied for fourth individually with opening rounds of 76 (+4). Lignell led the team in birdies on Wednesday afternoon as she carded three, including birdies on the par-three sixth, par-four eighth, and par-five 18
th, while Rizvi carded her lone birdie of the day on the par-three third, which played as the second hardest par-three on the course on Wednesday.
West Chester ranked second in the field in par three and par four scoring average on Wednesday at 3.40 (+8) and 4.40 (+20), while also leading the field in par-five scoring average at 5.30 (+6). The Golden Rams also finished the opening round second in the field in birdies and pars with seven birdies as a team and 46 pars, trailing only Gannon, who had eight birdies and 51 pars in the first round.
Individually, Lignell tied with Alexandria LeCuereux of Gannon, Kennady Norton of Clarion, and teammate
Cara Murphy (Massillon, Ohio/Jackson) (+8; 80; T8) for first in the field in birdies, while Rizvi finished her first round third on the field in pars with 12.

West Chester will return to the course tomorrow afternoon, beginning at 12:30 p.m., as the Golden Rams will go off in the final tee times of the afternoon, with the final group, which includes Rizvi, Sophia Reed of Bloomsburg, and Lopes of Gannon, going off the first tee at 1:10 p.m.
