CHARLESTON, W.V.- The West Chester University men's golf team climbed from a tie for third to first with an impressive final-round surge on Thursday afternoon at the UC Invitational at Berry Hills Country Club. West Chester matched its first round with a 291 in the final round, led by a five-under 65 by
William Hilton (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) to start its 2026-27 season with a Tournament title.
Hilton was impressive on Thursday as the sophomore carded seven birdies in his final round, including birdies on the par-four second, par-five fourth, par-four fifth, par-four sixth, par-four eighth, par-five ninth, and par-three 18
th to climb from 26
th after 36 holes to second on the individual leaderboard with a 54-hole score of -1 (76, 68, 65; 203).
West Chester finished the Tournament third in the field in birdies with 39 as a team and ranked in the top-five in the field in par-four (4.18-T3) and par-five (4.89-T4) scoring average. Hilton's final round moved him into third in the field in birdies with 13 for the Tournament, while teammate
Patrick Carl (Mount Airy, Md./South Carroll) finished in a tie for seventh with 11 of his own.
