SHIPPENSBURG, Pa.- The third-ranked West Chester University women's soccer team (4-0-0, 3-0-0) returned to the road on Saturday evening to take on Shippensburg (1-4-1, 0-4-0) in a PSAC East clash. West Chester allowed its first goal of the season late in the second half but not before scoring four goals of its own to cruise to a convincing 4-1 victory over the Raiders.

After a scoreless first half, which saw both teams record four shots each, West Chester exploded in the second half, scoring the first goal of the game in the 53^rd minute and two more following that in a five-minute span to take a 3-0 lead.

Jordan Nguyen (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) scored the first goal of the game in the 53^rd minute off an assist from Megan Curley (Minneapolis, Mn./Minneapolis) before Kianna Barber (Browns Mills, N.J./BCIT) scored twice in a four-minute span to take a 3-0 lead.

Barber's first goal came off an assist from Hannah Primwhere (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) before Kate Alexander (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) and Adriana Ryder (Hamilton, N.J./Steinert) picked up assists of their own as the Golden Rams took the 3-0 lead.

Lauren Reimold (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) added a goal of her own in the 69^th minute off an assist from Brielle Zink (Islip, N.Y./Islip), which extended the lead to 4-0.

In the 74^th minute, Shippensburg became the first opposing team to score a goal on the Golden Ram defense this fall as Emma Eisenhart found the back of the net to cut the deficit to 4-1 in a losing effort.

Grace Keen (Lincoln University, Pa./Avon Grove) made a pair of saves in the victory, while her counterpart Kristin Brown made eight stops in the loss.

West Chester finished the game with an 18-7 lead in shots and a 12-3 lead in shots on goal along with a 7-0 lead in corners.
