PRINCETON, N.J.- The West Chester University women's rugby team (0-2) returned to action on Saturday afternoon in the Garden State against Princeton (3-0) falling to the Tigers by a 91-0 final.
West Chester put together a strong first-half performance and made multiple deep runs into Princeton territory, but the Tiger defense came up with important stops when it mattered most to keep the visitors off the scoreboard through the first 40 minutes of play. Along with its strong defensive effort, the Tigers offense got off to a hot start, opening the scoring just over three minutes into the match as the host Tigers got out to a 31-0 lead at the break.
With a comfortable lead coming out of the half, Princeton added 60 more to its total, matching its program-record-setting output from last weekend against LIU, thanks in part to four trys in the final five minutes of the match to cruise past the visiting Golden Rams.
