BELLE VERNON, Pa.- The West Chester University women's golf team opened its 2026 season on Thursday morning at the California Vulcan Invitational at Cedarbrook Golf Club in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania. Teams dealt with inclement weather throughout the day on Thursday, and as a result, play was suspended midway through the second round, with most teams completing between seven and nine holes before play was halted. West Chester holds a five-stroke lead atop the team leaderboard on Thursday night as the Golden Rams shot a 306 in the first round to open the season and a 127 through eight holes in the second round.
Fatima Rizvi (Lucknow, India/RPS Academies) is third on the individual leaderboard at three-over-par after firing a 74 in her opening round and a 28 through her first seven holes of the second round.
