BELLE VERNON, Pa.- Taryn Brandt (Denton, Md./North Caroline) followed up her opening round 74 with a 74 in the second round, which was completed on Friday morning after play was suspended on Thursday evening due to weather to finish in a tie for third on the individual leaderboard and help lead the West Chester University women's golf team to its first Invitational Championship of the season at the Vulcan Invitational. Originally scheduled as a 54-hole Tournament, the Tournament was shortened to 36 holes on Friday afternoon due to inclement weather. West Chester finished the Tournament with a 36-hole score of 611 (306, 305), which was good enough for a five-stroke Tournament title over Jefferson, who finished with a 36-hole score of 616 (315, 301).
Brandt's second round included an eagle on the par-four 16
th early in the day on Friday before carding birdies on the two of her final three holes (the par-four first and par-five second) before a bogey on the par-three third to finish her round, which moved her from five-over to six-over for the Tournament.
Brandt was one of three Golden Rams in the top-10 after 36 holes as
Fatima Rizvi (Lucknow, India/RPS Academies) placed fifth with a score of +7 (74, 75; 149), while
Hannah Alan (Dubai, UAE/St. Mary's Catholic) finished in a tie for eighth at +11 (78, 75; 153) in her first Tournament as a Golden Ram.
